Mr S Seetharaman

Mr. S. Seetharaman, Chairman of Super Auto Forge Private Limited (SAF), Chennai, after his graduation as a Mechanical Engineer joined L&T and worked there for a few years. In 1970 he started a small Machining company. Subsequently he established Super Auto Forge (SAF) in the year 1974. He is the first Entrepreneur in India to establish the Cold Forging Technology for manufacture of Auto Components.

SAF today has five manufacturing Plants in and around Chennai. SAF is the largest exporter of Cold & Warm forged Steel & Aluminium parts in India with the annual sales exceeding Rs.1600 Crores, employing over 1900 persons. About 75% of SAF Production (Rs.1400 Crores) is exported to Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers in USA & Europe. Besides, SAF supplies a variety of parts and assemblies for the defense sector.

He has successfully transitioned the business to the second generation and currently acting as ‘Mentor’.

Seetharaman and his wife Radha are currently focused on community service thru’ their Family Trust, mainly focused on ‘Health’ and ‘Education’ to the deprived. Another area of focus is on support to children afflicted by ‘Autism’ and such other disorders, which is worryingly on the on the raising trend in India.
