Mr Abhilash Sridharan

Mr Abhilash serves retail and commercial banking, general and life insurance, and financial services institutions across India, Asia, North America and the United Kingdom. He helps clients transform businesses and address key challenges related to productivity, growth, operating models, AI strategy, business leadership, and overall strategy.

He leads our Service Operations Practice in Asia, our Banking Operations Joint Venture in Asia, and our Insurance Practice in India.

Previously, as a Partner in the New York office, Abhilash led our Small and Medium Business Banking Practice for North America, led our Auto Financing Practice for North America, and co-led our Global Banking Transformation Practice.

Examples of his recent client engagements include the following:

• designing and institutionalizing an enterprise-wide operating efficiency program for a global banking institution

• launching an analytics-led growth engine to help a regional institution drive approximately 15 percent improvement in frontline productivity in the SME and middle-market business lines

• simplifying bankwide processes across core banking operations, enabling support functions at a large Asian financial institution

• enabling a large Indian financial institution to drive bankwide efficiency across organizational restructuring, third-party spend reimagination, and end-to-end process simplification

• driving tech-enabled transformation at a large general insurance institution in India, with a combination of core modernization and strategic shifts for process simplification, people productivity, and digital transformation

• transforming a general insurance institution to improve market share across key lines, enhance fraud and claims capabilities, and drive efficiency-led P&L impact

• reimagining end-to-end client origination experience across business banking and middle-market commercial banking for a large regional bank with a focus on unlocking in-year efficiency, growth, and client experience

• helping a captive auto-finance institution on a wide range of strategic topics across product strategy, credit strategy, and inorganic growth strategy

• assisting a global payments institution focused on the SME segment with enterprise-wide efficiencies across all business lines and functions

• launching an analytics-led frontline growth transformation program for a mid-cap regional institution to help grow deposits by more than 20 percent in 18 months

• Prior to joining McKinsey & Company, Abhilash interned and worked at Citibank across global markets, consumer and small business banking, and commercial and transaction banking. He lives with his wife, daughter and parents in Mumbai. In addition to his client engagements, Abhilash is a frequent speaker at industry events and conferences.
