Gp Capt R Vijayakumar (Retd) VSM

Gp Capt R Vijayakumar (Retd), VSM, is the Executive Director of the Madras Management Association, India’s foremost professional management body. A highly decorated officer of the Indian Air Force, he was conferred the prestigious Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) by the President of India for distinguished service of a very high order. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades and honours for his exemplary service and leadership.

An alumnus of Loyola College, Chennai, Gp Capt Vijayakumar has a strong academic foundation. He holds an LLB degree, a Master’s in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, and a Master of Management Studies.

He took part in the Kargil Operations and served with the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) in Sri Lanka. He is a keen golfer and has represented India by accompanying the national golf team to international tournaments. His service and sporting spirit continue to inspire many.

Under his dynamic leadership, MMA has been adjudged the Best Management Association in India by AIMA for 15 consecutive years. His commitment to nation-building extends well beyond his professional achievements.

He has been nominated by the Hon’ble Governor as a Member of the Executive Committee of the St. John Ambulance Association. He also serves as an Executive Committee Member of the esteemed P S Educational Society and is the President of P S Matriculation School, North Mylapore.
